Pots bubble on the stove and delicious aromas waft through the kitchen. A few metres away someone is soaking in hot bath. Steam fills the bathroom and for a few moments it’s as though the world disappears.

Soul-soothing activities, like trying that new recipe or soaking in a hot bath undisturbed, make it good to be home. However, while you’re cooking a scrumptious meal or soaking stress away, your window treatments could be warping, buckling and starting to fade.

Fortunately our Fauxwood blinds are guaranteed against fading, warping, yellowing or bowing. The award-winning Fauxwood blinds are the perfect choice for high heat and humid environments because they’re made from durable PVC-foam (PVC Synthetic) yet they have an authentic wood grain appearance.

Are your fauxwood blinds your best recommended blinds for bathrooms please and how compactly do they stack, as we have custom made frames with an arch which we would not wish to cover when the blinds are open?
    Regards
    Carol

    Hi Carol,

Thanks for asking about Fauxwood blinds. There are other ranges of blinds you could use in bathrooms but if the bathroom is high moisture area and lacks ventilation, we would recommend installing Fauxwood blinds as they are waterproof.

All of our blinds are available in two different slat sizes, a 50mm and a 63mm. As the 63mm slats have a wider spacing, it gives you a better view through the blinds when open and creates a “shutter look.”

With regards to the actual stack height, this will depend on the overall height of the window for this blind. The greater the height of the window, the more slats are required which means a bigger stack height.

In order to give give you the best advice, we would love to arrange a consultation with you and measure the window(s). We have sent you an email so please check your inbox. You are also most welcome to contact us on 0860 7488837.

    Hi there

My bathroom window is situated in my shower. So any blinds will get thorougly soaked at least once a day. You’ve mentioned that your Fauxwood blinds are waterproof but would they be able to manage being drenched in water as opposed to simply being exposed to steam?

  6. admin Says:

    Hi Judy,

Thanks for the great question. We have two products in our range that can get wet as opposed to just being exposed to steam. Our Fauxwood blinds and our Woodbury shutters would both be happy to take a daily shower :)

Please feel free to contact us by emailing info@americanshutters.co.za or call us on 0860 748 8837.

    Cost – ???

    Please advise asap and thanks!
