Open and organised

Tired of tripping over children’s school bags while you dream of living in a bigger home? A little clever organisation could help you shake that cramped feeling without moving. Start by giving your home a good spring clean and donate anything that hasn’t been used in over a year to charity.

Create a view

We’re not all fortunate enough to have an amazing view from our homes but we all have the ability to create one!
The fastest and easiest ways to change a view is with timeless shutters and blinds. Obscure an unsightly view (that neighbour’s overgrown garden) by adjusting the louvres to let in the light and not the view, and at night, block out bright street or security lighting.

Create a beautiful green view from your patio by layering plants, largest at the back and smallest in the front, to create a sense of depth. Plant white flowers in garden beds for an impact; the contrast of white against green is striking and it stands out in a large garden.

Highlight your home’s best features

Making the most of your home could be as simple as rearranging furniture to highlight features. For example, highlight a fireplace in a lounge by positioning the seating to face it and accessorising the mantelpiece with décor to complement the brick or stone work.

It’s always easier to highlight beautiful features when the rooms are well-lit so hang mirrors to reflect natural light, paint rooms in light-enhancing neutral shades and maximise the natural light of a space by opting for white shutters and blinds.

Large louvre profiles, like our range of wooden louvre blinds which includes a unique wide slat size of 63.5mm, create bigger gaps between the louvres when opened and allow more light to spill into the space. And when closed the stacking depth is less because there are less slats.
