The interior of this unique home was designed by award-winning interior designer, Julia Day. Vibrant colours, bold finishes, interesting artwork and mixed materials come together to create an eclectic, contemporary home. The interior design has a sense of fun and undeniable uniqueness, especially the dramatic dining room that features our Normandy Shutters in a custom matt black finish.
Range: Normandy Shutters
Finish: Dining Room – Custom Matt Black
………Bedroom – Stained Acorn
I have installed various AMERICAN shutters’ ranges in previous projects; Decowood Shutters, Normandy Shutters and Security Shutters which I think are a good solution to doing away with burglar bars.
For this home, I chose Normandy Shutters in a custom black finish that gave the dramatic effect I wanted and allowed the window treatment to disappear at night as it is surrounded by black wallpaper. The shutters also give a strong graphic finish which contrasts very well with the wallpaper in this eclectic, contemporary styled home.
I was impressed by how extremely neat the installation team worked and I am very happy with how well the shutters operate.
The layout and size of the dining room allowed for the 4-panel bi-fold Normandy shutters to open and stack neatly to one side when open, ensuring enough space around the dining table and easy access to the outdoors. The bespoke finish of shutters works perfectly and complements the vibrant colours and textures within the space.
AMERICAN shutters’ Normandy Shutters can be finished in a choice of 68 painted colours and stains as well as custom colours and can be manufactured to fit unusually shaped openings such as angles and arches.
