The client’s brief was to provide privacy in their bathrooms, while still allowing in filtered light and ventilation. The challenge was a free-standing bath directly in front of the shutters which would impede a folding operation. The solution was to install a sliding by-pass shutter in the guest bathroom which is easy to operate and gives access to the windows behind. In the main bathroom, we opted for a different configuration where we installed a tier-on-tier shutter where the top half opens independently of the bottom half, thereby allowing unrestricted views but still being able to close and tilt the louvres for additional privacy.
