AMERICAN shutters® offers various security shutter configurations including:

HINGED SECURITY SHUTTERS CONFIGURATION

Hinged security shutters (window shutters, shutter blinds, etc) comprise of a perimeter frame and shutter panel/s. The shutter panels are hinged off the perimeter frame. AMERICAN shutters® has many perimeter frame options to suit different aesthetic choices, reveal depths, installation designs and space considerations.

BI-FOLD SECURITY SHUTTERS CONFIGURATION

Bi-Fold shutters are top hung from tracks using wheels and guided at the bottom in a floor channel. They will slide and stack at 90° to the opening, which means they will protrude into the room, however, AMERICAN shutters® offers a unique 180° stacking bi-fold system which is a great option in certain circumstances.

Bi-folding shutters are flexible in terms of how you configure them. You can select on which side of the opening you want the shutters to stack or have them split up and stacking on either side for aesthetic balance. The layout of the room will normally dictate the most practical solution. Bi-fold shutters are a good solution for doors and wider windows.

The videos below demonstrate the options.

BY-PASS SECURITY SHUTTERS CONFIGURATION

By-Pass shutters are top hung from tracks using wheels and guided at the bottom in floor channels. They will slide back and forth and often use multiple tracks so that shutters can slide behind one another (with louvres either in the closed or open position).

By-pass shutters are easy to operate and can be incorporated to slide into building cavities. The shutter panels can also be stacked in front of an adjacent wall to clear the opening of shutters or the shutters can slide back and forth within the door or window space using either the closed system or the open system for the louvres.

Consideration needs to be given to how much reveal depth is required and whether the shutter panels need to be able to move completely out of the window or door.

The videos below demonstrate the options.
