Miss World 2014, Rolene Strauss recently installed AMERICAN shutters at her home in Val De Vie Estate – Watch Rolene’s interview joined by Managing Director, Nadine Stoltz, and Shaheeda Mohamed Executive Consultant below. It is clear to see why so many South Africans choose AMERICAN shutters.

Rolene Strauss: I’ve come to love my home and this is the first place that I have the opportunity to make a home and create a home as a wife and a mother and the one thing on my wish list when we bought the house or one of the main things was to install American shutters for many reasons but specifically at that stage it was because it’s just so gorgeous and beautiful and after doing some research I’ve come to learn all of the other benefits regarding American shutters and today I’m joined by two wonderful women first of all Nadine Nadine is the managing director of American Chatters representing all women in leadership thank you so much for joining me and secondly shahida shahida is known as the guru when it comes to shutters and specifically American shutters she is a sales representative and has been such an honor to work with you on this project in our lovely home year in Paul in in the cape winelands so shahida when I contact you the first time I had two things in mind when I thought of installing American shutters first of all how gorgeous and beautiful it is and second of all for those of you who know Paul it is extremely hot and in our bride room area where we are seated at the moment it gets so hot and American shutters helped us or could at that stage help us to control the environment or the heat tremendously so what was the first thing that came to mind when I called you with these two requests so.

Shaheeda Mohamed: when I came in originally the brief was to obviously control your heat also allow you to have a more private space and to make this space a lot more livable so when I took that brief I thought of doing a bi-fold design so that that allows you to control the shutters by either tilting the louvers in a semi-closed position like we’ve got it now actually open up the shutter totally and then maximize your external space as your internal space.

Rolene Strauss: Every morning when I wake up and I come down it just makes my heart so happy to see the gorgeous shutters and of course my bougainvilleas at the other end of them it just makes me so happy

Shaheeda Mohamed: thank you thank you for the opportunity to welcome us into your home it was a lovely project to work on I think the fact that we went silk white which is our off-white it’s just soft on the eye you know and it and it Blends in so perfectly with your internal tones

Rolene Strauss: and because it’s white and light or rather off-white it opens up the space creates a much bigger space and the second thing is the fact that I can really stack the shutters and I can open it onto our lovely patio area and it’s actually like two rooms in one and it’s almost like I have double this size one big space so the indoors become a part of the outdoors and there are so many different looks to choose from and when I had to choose what color I wanted and what look I went for I had to page through so many pages filled with different looks and um it’s just wonderful to see how American shutters can work in different areas different homes and for people with different tastes in in shutters and Decor my very good franger and straw files also installed a certain type of American shutter which blew my mind and I never knew that shutters can also be safe so Nadine perhaps you can tell us more about the other benefits of American shutters that very few people actually know about so.

Nadine Stoltz: for me the aluminum shutters are security shutters and the security shutters living in South Africa that’s important for us to make sure that we have a safe area a

Rolene Strauss: place safe and beautiful

Nadine Stoltz: yeah safe and beautiful is just blend in it becomes parts of the room and like you say you can open them up and you can extend it so you can bring the outside in and inside out and then also like you mentioned energy efficient so it keeps your house cooler that’s it in summer and it keeps it warmer in winter exactly it reflects the lights and

Rolene Strauss: one thing that my husband Anil loves is the fact that it increases the value of our home but it increases the value of the home which is investment

Nadine Stoltz: and for me also if you think about you can do your whole house but if you want a focus points you can also just take one window and start with one window and I think that’s

Rolene Strauss: another misconception that people often have is they think that you have to do your whole house it’s not necessary or that you have to have a big space in order to install American shutters but you can start small you can do one window at a time one room at a time even do little bits and pieces here and there you don’t have to do everything all at once

Shaheeda Mohamed: it’s up to you as the client so you will then determine how much shutters you want in your space yes

Rolene Strauss: I thoroughly enjoyed the service of American shutters and there are two things for me personally that distinguish or um that’s the difference between a good service provider and a not so good service provider the first thing is communication and I’ve had excellent communication throughout the process specifically from you shahida as to sending you pictures measuring with my feet in my measuring table um and I actually asked her advice on other things that might not even be related to the American shutters like should I move the fridge or not I love the open communication and of course the management of expectations I also thought that getting American shutters would take so long but shahida sent me a message and said rolene we have to order now otherwise it won’t be in time and before I knew it my shutters was here and the installation process went so smoothly very few service providers I’ve come across did the installation in a way that American churches did I mean it was effortless there was no as there was no mess they cleaned up everything my home was almost cleaner after the installation than before and I am a very private person so it’s not always easy letting people into your home where you make memories as a family Where Your Children Are and I felt so safe and so comfortable with the team from American shutters who did the installation so while Ben shahida obviously thank you and of course well done Nadine for taking the lead and making sure that everything goes smoothly behind the scenes I know a lot of the times people in the background don’t get as much credit now to the ones in France complete team efforts
